Clocks & Teasmades Sales Repairs Servicing Advice & Restorations SURVIVING DOMESTIC CLOCKS ARE A LIVING RECORD OF OUR SOCIAL HISTORY I specialize in cleaning and servicing old clocks and teasmades along with interesting and mass produced cheaper timepieces that were once very common and taken for granted. There are many, many different styles, and types of clocks. From mass produced and inexpensive, to hand crafted and very valuable. Not all repairs are viable, but the value belongs to the owner. A cheap clock handed down through the generations becomes priceless to the recipient, even if its monetary value is low. In this modern Quartz age, older Traditional clocks are increasing in popularity, and many people find a real ticking clock adds something to their home. GRANDFATHER, CUCKOO, STRIKING, CHIMING, CARRIAGE, WALL, BRACKET, MANTLE CLOCKS - to name just a few - they can all be serviced and repaired, and some converted to run from a quartz movement. Replacement Glass, Dials, Hands, Keys, Weights, Chains, Springs etc. Parts can be sourced, supplied and fitted. Most mechanical clocks made after the mid 1970s can have replacement movements fitted cheaper than the cost of overhauling them, but older clocks have to be manually stripped down and rebuilt, often at a high labour cost. I offer a call out service, and will diagnose problems and set up clocks in your home or premises. I will also collect and return clocks needing repair should you not be able to come to me. I have a modest selection of refurbished clocks and teasmades for sale at my workshop. I also have a selection of used teasmade spares including kettles, lamp covers, trays and teapots. I supply quartz clock inserts and will replace or convert your clock to run from a quartz movement. This can be a cheap and practical solution for anyone wishing to keep the original clock case but avoiding the high costs of rebuilding an old and worn out mechanical movement. I can help you with information and valuations on any clock, and I offer free visual estimates and free advice. Above and below are some examples of restored/refurbished teasmades and clocks that I have repaired/serviced. |

My Son Edric - who has no interest in clocks at all, eats all my biscuits, while Adam - a young man interested in learning about clocks, is after my teasmades! They both "help" me on alternate Saturdays - what have I let myself in for?!! |
